Lengthy Catharsis
So, basically, it's a normal day at work; and of course, by normal, I mean being hopped up on adhd medication (I'm prescribed, don't worry); listening to Christmas songs and Christmas flash mobs with 2 of my bosses; searching every corner of the internet for something quasi-productive to do; tuning out the 5th conversation this week between my bosses and another employee (who somehow increasingly finds herself in our office) about the controversial topic of people unfairly hawking the National Championship tickets, which, to everyone's consternation, I really couldn't care less about; downing my second Dr. Pepper; and hoping something exciting will happen today... or just soon. And, this longing for excitement is precisely why I decided to start blogging. It seems to me that everyone who has a blog, and tends to it regularly, also has an exciting life, or at least an interesting life. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my life and I'm thankful for everything and everyone in it; but that doesn't mean I don't wish there were more "everything"s and "everyone"s in it, maybe "everyone"s like the people whose blogs/twitters/facebooks I find interesting. Anyway, I just want to be surprised by someone, and I don't mean like a surprise party or surprise visit; I mean, as in someone surprises me in what they believe, or how they feel, or how they act or react to me and/or other people. ugh. Fairy tales have ruined me forever. Thanks a lot Brothers Grimm (and Disney).
